The meeting was not just a testament to the past but a blueprint for the future. Both leaders expressed a keen interest in expanding their strategic cooperation, aiming to serve mutual interests and address global challenges. The dialogue spanned a range of topics, from investment, education, and culture to technology, science, and renewable energy. The shared commitment to sustainable development and climate action was evident, especially with the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) that the UAE is set to host.

Economic collaboration was a focal point of their discussions. The two nations have cultivated strong economic ties, spanning critical sectors such as renewable energy, technology, agriculture, and trade. Notably, the non-oil trade exchange between the countries reached an impressive USD 4.6 billion last year, marking a growth rate of 7.2% from 2021. The UAE is home to approximately 350 Dutch companies, underscoring its position as one of the Netherlands’ primary trading partners in the Arab world.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the UAE’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and renewable energy. He emphasized the nation’s strategy of economic diversification, which has bolstered its economic resilience and enhanced its global stature.

On his part, Prime Minister Rutte expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the Netherlands’ eagerness to fortify its cooperation with the UAE.
